WHIRLPOOL COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION OF 1.1 MILLION SQUARE FOOT DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Whirlpool has had a strategic partnering relationship with StructureTec for nearly 30 years.  When plans for a new distribution center were approved, StructureTec was brought in to commission the building envelope assets. StructureTec’s team of experts performed a thorough review of the roof and building envelope design specifications. The structure was located and positioned strategically to gain valuable railway access. This position and the geographic location put the design at risk of failure in high wind conditions. Understanding the owners need for total system control and performance, StructureTec made recommendations for areas of design improvement.

The project team worked together with the help of StructureTec to develop a comprehensive bid package. StructureTec’s team was present at all bid functions, worked to answer questions from the project team and contractors, and helped to select and vet contractors.

StructureTec’s team was on site daily to monitor the work of all contractors. Daily reports of site activity and important coordination efforts were delivered to the Director of Real Estate. Despite a tight construction schedule, the project was completed on time and to the highest degree of quality within the defined budget.
