STRUCTURETEC DESIGNS, BIDS, AND MANAGES THE CONSTRUCTION OF ROOFING PROGRAM FOR COCA-COLA

Coca-Cola contracted StructureTec to perform a condition analysis of all their roof systems serving their priority Midwestern sites in Niles, IL, Paw Paw, MI, and Grand Rapids, MI. Data Management Services (DMS), a division of StructureTec, provided an accurate, detailed condition analysis and recommendations based on the prioritization of maintenance, repairs, and replacement. It was found that several buildings had active leaks and deteriorated roofing systems in need of restoration or replacement.

After the DMS team presented their findings, Coca-Cola created a list of capital roofing projects which StructureTec designed, bid, and managed the construction of a multi-year program, resulting in more than $6,000,000 in work over the course of the roofing program.

At the Paw Paw location alone, StructureTec managed the replacement of 128,000 square feet of roof area. The roof was removed down to the deck substrate and a full single ply roof replacement was completed. Upon removing the existing roofing around the drains along the transition wall with the E-Cooler, it was noted that their was no existing insulation around the drains. Since raising the drains was not feasible, StructureTec made the decision to install drain bowl extensions to complete the detailing. Foam sealants were sprayed around the perimeter transitions and any penetrations to decrease air flow from the cooler into the system. Custom fabricated sheet metal was installed to complete the project.

During construction, StructureTec’s on-site project management ensured the roofs were completed according to the specifications and any necessary adjustments to design details were completed in a quick and timely manner.
